The bandage should not be removed for a minimum of four hours.
If new bleeding occurs, the area should be held with your thumb for five minutes. A new bandage should be applied.
Avoid heavy lifting and strenuous exercises for 12 hours after transfusion to allow faster healing.
Dizziness and swelling at the needle site may occur in less than 1 per cent of cases. If this happens, sit down and place your head between your knees or lie down with your legs elevated. Remain in this position until the sensation subsides to avoid falling or injury.
