General Services for HPB Surgery in Navi Mumbai

General Services

Hepatopancreatobiliary surgical procedures consist of but are not limited to complex hepatic, biliary, and pancreatic surgeries such as liver resection, liver tumour ablation, bile duct resection, resection of the pancreas for benign and malignant conditions, bile duct repair, and complex gallbladder resections. Most of these procedures can be performed using a minimally invasive approach with the appropriate use of laparoscopic surgical techniques. The sample tissue from the suspected hepatopancreatobiliary organs for biopsy is also taken via minimally invasive techniques such as colonoscopy and endoscopy.

Surgical management for the following cases is offered by our Hepato Pancreato Biliary department:

  • Liver Tumors
Primary liver tumours, that is, those that originate from the liver itself, can be treated only with resection of the diseased liver or with liver transplantation. For metastatic colorectal cancers, complete surgical removal of the disease is the only option for a cure.
  • Pancreatic tumours
For pancreatic tumours, surgical removal of the tumour is the only option for cure. The type of surgery depends upon the location of the tumour within the pancreas.
  • Gallbladder and Bile Duct Tumors
For these tumours, liver resection is usually the treatment of choice, but sometimes patients might need to get their bile duct reconstructed, depending on the stage of the tumour and the involvement of the bile duct and surrounding structures.

Apart from providing surgical treatment for tumours, we also offer treatment for other surgically treatable diseases of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and bile ducts.

All the procedures are performed by highly experienced staff while following international protocols and quality standards. Our operation theatres are fully equipped with state-of-the-art machines and advanced instruments. We house dedicated surgical intensive care units for the care of critically ill postoperative patients. We have the latest MRI and CT scan machines for high-quality imaging of the pancreas, liver, and biliary system. Optimum hygiene practices are followed during all our procedures to negate the chances of infection and optimise the outcome.
