Dr. Pooja Shah is a skilled and dedicated infectious diseases specialist with extensive clinical, research and teaching experience. She employs her knowledge and skills to provide evidence based medical care to her patients, inculcate scientific temper in her students and contribute to pertinent, practice-changing research in her speciality. Her alma mater include GSMC and KEMH (MBBS), LTMMC/Sion hospital (MD medicine) and CMC Vellore (DM infectious diseases). She has also completed the International tropical medicine certificate course in tropical medicine supported by the Haukeland University, Norway(UK). She is a visiting Infectious Diseases consultant at several reputed institutes in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai including Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (Koperkhairne), Medicover Hospital (Kharghar), Fortis Hospital (Vashi). She serves as a regular faculty at international courses funded by the US National Institute of Health (NIH) and Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) among others. She has been invited as subject expert to present her research work and deliver talks at numerous national and international conferences. She is also a member of varied Infectious Diseases forums including CIDS- Clinical Infectious Diseases Society of India and ESCMID – European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. She has more than 8 years of experience in dealing with complicated, recurrent, atypical and severe infections.
