Pyorrhoea also known as periodontitis is an inflammatory gum disease that is the result of an accumulation of bacteria in the mouth. The main cause of it is bad oral hygiene and the symptoms include swollen gums, dark red, bright red, or purple colored gums, receding gums, frequent gum bleeding, bad breath, tooth movements, tooth sensitivity and chewing discomfort. If not treated in time it can cause or lead to the destruction of the tooth’s supporting bone, which would mean ending mobility and loss of it. Maintian a good oral hygiene and visit your dentist regularly to prevent the development of dental pyorrhea.
