Who should get tested for tuberculosis?

KDAH

Tuberculosis is a serious bacterial infection that mainly affects the lungs. You should get yourself tested if you have symptoms of an active TB infection or if you have certain factors that put you at higher risk for getting TB. People who are at a high risk of contracting tuberculosis, such as those who work in hospitals must be tested for latent infection. When left untreated, 5 to 10% of patients with latent tuberculosis can develop active tuberculosis that is contagious. #WorldTuberculosisDay
