Sarcoma is rare, but awareness is important.

KDAH

Sarcoma is a rare cancer that can grow in bones, muscles, fat, or tissues. Because it’s not commonly known, it often goes undiagnosed for too long. Sarcoma symptoms are often silent, but your body may still be sending signals: * A new lump or swelling (especially in arms, legs, or abdomen) * Pain near the lump or in the bones * Limited movement in joints * Fatigue or weight loss (in later stages) If a lump is growing or lasts more than 2 weeks, get it checked. When diagnosed early, the tumor is usually smaller and hasn’t spread to other parts of the body, making treatment—often surgery—more effective and less invasive. Patients diagnosed early have a higher chance of complete recovery, require fewer aggressive treatments like chemotherapy or radiation, and face fewer long-term complications. On the other hand, delayed diagnosis can lead to the cancer spreading, making it more difficult to treat.
