Both men and women can have Parkinson's Disease. However, it affects about 50% more men than women. The symptoms usually begin gradually and get worse over time. Most people with Parkinson's Disease develop it at the age of 60, however, about 5 to 10 percent of people have "early-onset" Parkinson's Disease, which begins before the age of 50.
